We will soon say bye-bye to 2016 and I wanted to say a huge thank you for coming to visit my site, liking my social media pages and for the lovely feedback that I have received throughout the year.
Just to fill you in on recent activity, The Great North Snowdogs art project has now completed. The auction went well, with a grand total of £259.2k being raised for St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice. It was a pleasure to be involved with this wonderful charity and I’m pleased that my own ‘ Rockdog’ and ‘Dog Biscuit’ have gone to very good homes.
A few of the 61 dogs on stage at the Sage, Newcastle/Gateshead.
It also led to one of the personal highlights of my year which was my dog biscuit’s ‘party ring’ bum getting a laugh out of the auction MC Jason Cook, a comedian I admire immensely (tiny little air punch).
In other news, I launched a couple of prints in November and I’m thrilled that the editions sold out straight away (especially as there wasn’t a biscuit in sight). I’ve been an artist for a whole quarter of a century but even now, I’m still a ball of nerves when I release new artwork. So thank you for supporting my mental health and keeping my cats in Dreamies.
For those of you who have kindly followed her progress, my mammy bravely continues her journey through late stage dementia and Christmas day just happens to be her birthday too so the nursing home is where I’ll be on the 25th. I will try to make her laugh and hopefully not cry, by warbling a carol or two for her.
Now, it is time to get up to your necks in tinsel and snowballs: Happy Christmas! Make sure the rest of this year is filled with as much loveliness as you can feasibly squash in. Look after and enjoy each other or else what’s it all about, ey?
